Welcome to The Sporting Tribune Podcast Network and a new episode of The Sporting Tribune Today, our every-weekday show on sports in Southern California, Las Vegas and Hawaii.  On today’s edition of The Sporting Tribune Today, Grant Mona brings you two timely segments filled with insight and voice from the games and practices that matter most.

Segment One — Dave Roberts at Spring Training Media Day

In the first segment, Grant breaks down Dodgers manager Dave Roberts’ message during Spring Training Media Day as the team prepares to defend its recent success. Roberts emphasized the organization’s “standard for excellence,” stressing that consistency day-to-day is key and that returning core players — along with hungry new faces — are focused on building another championship season. He talked about maintaining a level approach from Spring Training through the regular season, echoing the mindset that has carried L.A. through 12 consecutive postseason appearances and multiple World Series runs.

Segment Two — Lakers Postgame After Win vs. Warriors & JJ Redick Comments

In the second segment, Grant recaps the Lakers’ win over the Dallas Mavericks as they head into the All-Star break with momentum. In that matchup, LeBron James led the charge, and the Lakers put together a statement performance on both ends of the floor to come out on top in a key Western Conference contest. LeBron made history as the oldest player to record a triple-double (28–12–10) in a 124-104 victory over the Mavericks before the break.
