According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, star safety Bishop Fitzgerald is expected not to play Saturday afternoon against the Oregon Ducks in Eugene. Thus far in 2025, Fitzgerald has recorded 51 tackles and snagged 5 interceptions, and is the highest graded Power Four safety in the nation this season per PFF.
Additionally, with Fitzgerald not expected to play, safety Kamari Ramsey and left tackle Elijah Paige are doubtful to play.
All three of Southern California's starters were banged up in the first half of last Saturday's Iowa game, in which the Trojans came away with the 26-21 win.
Despite some crucial pieces expected to miss, Southern California can lean on its extensive depth with guys like Kennedy Urlacher and Christian Pierce to play safety, and their production was well noted as Southern California shut out the Hawkeyes' offense in the second half.
The availability report will give a broader view of the severity of the situation the Trojans will face in Eugene, but with how Lincoln Riley manages the report, it's hard to tell who will actually be available a few hours from now.
Even with some key pieces missing for Southern California, Oregon is also missing some of its own starters, with wide receiver Dakorien Moore and fellow starting receiver Gary Bryant Jr. expected to miss today, according to Zenitz. This will likely lead to Oregon depending on their starting running back, Noah Whittington.
