EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The South Bay Lakers capped a perfect opening weekend with a 123-113 win over the Valley Suns on Sunday night at UCLA Health Training Center, completing a two-game sweep to start the 2025-26 season.

Los Angeles Lakers two-way guard Chris Mañon delivered a dominant performance, leading all scorers with 31 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including 4-of-7 from three-point range and 5-of-5 from the line. He added seven rebounds, four steals and three blocks in 40 minutes. Drew Timme followed with 29 points, while guard RJ Davis added 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Forward Anton Watson chipped in 14 points and six rebounds.

South Bay blew the game open with a massive second quarter, pouring in 45 points while shooting 58 percent from the field and 54 percent from deep. The Lakers led 70-49 at halftime and pushed the margin to 26 before the Suns rallied to cut the deficit to 12 entering the fourth. Despite the push, Valley never pulled closer, and South Bay closed out its second straight wire-to-wire win. The Lakers have yet to trail this season.

Valley finished with five players in double figures, including four starters. Two-way forward Koby Brea had 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Jaden Shackelford scored 25 in 37 minutes. Damion Baugh added 24 points and eight assists and matched Mañon with a game-high four steals.

The South Bay Lakers return to action Sunday, Nov. 16, against the Rip City Remix at 5 p.m. PT at UCLA Health Training Center.
