RALEIGH, NC -- The USC Trojans may have found another five-star talent in true freshman Jazzy Davidson.

Davidson's collegiate debut last Tuesday against the New Mexico State Aggies was one filled with anticipation and adjustment, as she concluded her first college game shooting just 4-16 from the field and with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in the season opener. Despite struggling mightily in the first half of the Trojans' first road game on Sunday against the No.9 NC State Wildcats, Davidson's explosive performance on the floor presented itself as she led the charge with 18 second-half points and secured the comeback victory with a go-ahead layup with eight seconds left for a final score of 69-68.

This game was neck and neck for the majority of the game, and there were indicators throughout the first half that this game would come down to the wire. Senior Londynn Jones led the charge on the offensive front for the Women of Troy, shooting a perfect 4-4 from the floor and ending the first half with 14 points as the Trojans trailed the Wildcats 34-33.

As mentioned, Davidson was struggling to find her rhythm in the first half, shooting a freezing 1-10 from the floor and three points, with a lone three she banked in. It wasn't until the second half that Davidson would play the spark to the Trojans' offense.

The True freshmen came out of the visitors' tunnel swinging, going 5-5 from the field and giving USC a much-needed boost on both sides of the floor. But with every made shot, NC State would respond accordingly, and heading into the final quarter of regulation, the Wildcats held a 58-50 lead.

The entire Trojan offense was clicking on all cylinders in the final quarter and took advantage of the Wildcats' nonexistent shooting by going on an 8-0 run, capped off by a Davidson layup with just eight seconds left, to secure the comeback win.

Davidson would finish this game with 21 points, also paired up with Jones' 19 points, to give the Trojans a 2-0 start to their young season.

The Women of Troy head back home to Los Angeles for their next game next Saturday as they host the No. 2 South Carolina Gamecocks, but they will not play at their usual home in the Galen Center. Instead, they will head five minutes down the road and play at Crypto.com Arena in the Real SC game.
