Sep 28, 2025; East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA; Los Angeles Chargers running back Omarion Hampton (8) rushes as New York Giants safety Dane Belton (24) defends during the second quarter at MetLife Stadium.

Washington Commanders (2-2) AT LA Chargers (3-1)

When: Sunday 1:25 pm

Where: SoFi Stadium

TV: Fox-11 (Los Angeles), Fox-5 (San Diego), Fox Sports App (streaming)

Radio: Los Angeles: KYSR-FM (98.7), LA Spanish: 105.5 FM/94.3 FM (LA Spanish)

Line: Chargers by -2.5

Notable injury designations:

Chargers: OUT: Joe Alt (ankle), WR Derius Davis (knee) Questionable: TE Tucker Fisk (toe), TE Will Dissly (knee), G Mekhi Becton (concussion)

Commanders: OUT: WR Terry McLaurin (quad), WR Noah Brown (groin/knee), G Sam Cosmi (knee).

What's at stake? For the Chargers they need a bounce back after that horrendous performance in New York. They need a victory to stay ahead of Kansas City, who seem like they are picking up steam, and Denver, who is facing Philadelphia in the earlier window.

For the Commanders, they have Jayden Daniels back in the lineup, so it would be a good chance to bounce back after their loss to the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. They want to stay alive in the wild card mix.

Who's better? Chargers slightly. The Chargers have youth and a better defense than Washington. Missing McLaurin will hurt them offensively.

Matchup to watch: Chargers defense vs. Jayden Daniels. After the defensive performance last week against Jaxson Dart the defense will need a big game. Daniels can take off running and make plays with his legs as well as his arm. The defense needs to be physical and get after Daniels with Tuli Tuipulotu coming off a four sack performance.

Chargers win if: They can protect Justin Herbert. Sounds easy right? It hasn’t the last two weeks as Herbert has taken 26 hits and sacked seven times. Adding one more element to this Washington allowed over 170 yards to Bijan Robinson last week. Unleash the rookie back.

Fantasy sleeper: Omarion Hampton. Feed him! take the training wheels off and let him control the game. A Jim Harbaugh offense runs the football. Well, they need to get back to that and not just depend on Herbert.

Prediction: This is a hard choice. The offense was taken by surprise by Joe Alt’s injury. They will have a whole week to prepare and get this right. Dicker wins it. Chargers 27, Commanders 26.
