PHOENIX – The Dodgers' offense, after scoring 14 runs the previous night, was shut out by the Diamondbacks, losing 3-0 on Saturday at Chase Field.

Right-hander Corbin Burnes delivered an impressive performance against the Dodgers, pitching seven scoreless innings. He allowed five hits and two walks while striking out five batters. Burnes retired 11 of the last 13 hitters he faced. His dominant display not only kept the Dodgers off balance but also served as a reminder of his Cy Young Award-winning season in 2021 with the Milwaukee Brewers.

The night did not go as the Dodgers had hoped, as they faced challenges on the field. Although Shohei Ohtani, Max Muncy, and Andy Pages each managed to get a hit, the team failed to capitalize on their opportunities. Freddie Freeman’s 14-game hitting streak came to an end as he went 0-for-4. As a result, the Dodgers were shut out for the third time this season.

The Dodgers did not record any extra-base hits in the game on Saturday, finishing with a total of five hits. Michael Conforto and Hyeseoung Kim each went 1-for-4 with a single. While it wasn't an impressive performance by the Dodgers' standards, it was noteworthy how the team reacted after a thrilling win the night before, which was not ideal for manager Dave Roberts.

The Diamondbacks started strong, scoring multiple runs throughout the game. In the third inning, Corbin Carroll led off with a triple and later scored on Ketel Marte's groundout, which brought in an RBI. In the sixth inning, Eugenio Suárez hit his 12th home run of the season, launching the ball an impressive 455 feet. Pavin Smith added to the score in the eighth inning with an RBI double.

Arizona recorded nine hits against the Dodgers' pitching staff, while right-hander Dustin May delivered an impressive performance. He limited the Diamondbacks to just two runs over 6 and 2/3 innings. May gave up seven hits, struck out five batters, and issued one walk while throwing 88 pitches.

The Dodgers currently have a record of 26-14 for the season and 11-11 on the road. While injuries continue to hinder the team's performance, Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow appear to be progressing well. They have started playing catch, and hopefully, they will be able to return before the end of the month.

For the final game of their 10-game road trip, the Dodgers will send right-hander Tony Gonsolin (1-0, 4.09 ERA) to the mound, while the Diamondbacks will counter with right-hander Zac Gallen (3-4, 4.37) on Sunday.
