LOS ANGELES -- After missing the last three games of the Dodgers' homestand against the Atlanta Braves, Freddie Freeman was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right ankle injury Thursday evening, which will be retroactive to Monday. Freeman missed the last three games against Atlanta due to rolling his surgically repaired ankle in the shower before the series kicked off. The Dodgers have not yet announced a corresponding move.

Freeman has begun his 2025 season riddled with tweaks of past injuries as he sat out for the two-game Tokyo Series against the Chicago Cubs due to a lingering left rib injury. The rib discomfort and his tweaked ankle, which he had to rest in game four of the NLCS, were the two injuries Freeman played through during the Dodgers 2024 World Series run.

The Dodgers' first baseman made it clear that he would need to manage the condition of his right ankle closely throughout the season. He continues to undertake significant recovery and treatment for his right ankle before and after games.

"It wasn't 100 percent," Manager Dave Robert said on the topic of Freeman's ankle injury before his accident in the shower. "But still, obviously with the way he swung the bat, he was in a good spot."

The 35-year-old has only played three games for Los Angeles this season, going 3-for-12 with two home runs and four RBIs.
