PHIILADELPHIA -- The Clippers got a convincing win against an underperforming Philadelphia 76ers team on Sunday to open their road trip, 125-99.

In basically every single category, the Clippers outplayed the Sixers, a team missing Joel Embiid and Paul George due to injury management.

Of course, it all started with the defense. Kris Dunn and Derrick Jones Jr. have been even better than advertised thus far, and in Sunday night's matchup with Philadelphia, those two made a huge impact.

Sixers rookie Jared McCain came into the matchup scoring 20 or more points in each of the last seven games, but the Clippers had other ideas. He was limited to 18 points on 3/15 shooting and 5 points on November 6th.

It seems like many players are having season low nights when they come to play these Clippers. Dunn is a menace off of screens, in passing lanes and on the perimeter. Jones Jr. can stay in front of wings, is very athletic on both ends, and can push out in transition after turnovers as well.

Many Clipper fans are saying this could be the best defense a Clipper team has ever had and that certainly is the feeling right now. After this blowout victory, the Los Angeles Clippers are the 5th seed in the Western Conference, 5th in defensive rating in the NBA, and only two games back of the first seed Golden Stat Warriors.

They are getting contributions from everyone, and James Harden was out for revenge against his former team yet again. Harden scored 23 points and had 8 assists, commanding the floor and getting others involved, including a lob to Jones Jr. off of a steal.

Each starter for the Clippers had a +/- of +30 or higher, and the bench had both Terance Mann and Kevin Porter Jr. score in double figures.

Sure, the offense gets stagnant at times, but the balance of the roster and scoring really opens things up for the team without Norm Powell and Kawhi Leonard.

That is the other thing. The Clippers are now 11-7 without Leonard in any game so far, and without Powell one the last three games, looking like they are improving game-by-game.

You guessed it, another back-to-back on Monday and perhaps the biggest test of the season: the Boston Celtics. Both teams are coming in as some of the hottest in the league, so it should be a fun watch. Tipoff is set for 4:30 PM PST in Boston.
