LOS ANGELES -- LAFC returns home tonight looking to continue the best start in club history when FC Dallas visits BMO Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

The Black & Gold enter the match riding strong early-season momentum, winning their first four matches across all competitions. It’s a start that has already matched one of the best stretches in club history and positions LAFC to set a new mark with a third consecutive win to open an MLS season.

Still, the message inside the locker room has remained measured.

“We had a very good month of February, but our feet are on the ground,” head coach Marc Dos Santos said this week. “The season is like a long boxing match. You need to stay on your feet and keep punching.”

Recent Form

LAFC has been dominant to begin the 2026 MLS campaign. The club opened league play with a 3-0 victory over Inter Miami CF before following it up with a 2-0 win against the Houston Dynamo.

Five goals have come from five different players, while the defense has yet to concede in league play. Despite struggling to find the scoresheet, midfielder Son Heung‑min has already emerged as a key playmaker, tied for the MLS lead with three assists. Meanwhile, forward Denis Bouanga sits among the league leaders in shots.

The early defensive solidity has stood out as well. Center back Nkosi Tafari said the team’s hybrid back line has helped give the group flexibility.

“It’s something you see a lot these days,” Tafari said. “It just gives us a little bit more flexibility and freedom.”

Dallas enters the match with a 1-0-1 record after opening the season at home. Eric Quill’s side defeated Toronto FC 3-2 on opening weekend before playing Nashville SC to a scoreless draw last week.

Dallas tends to play in a 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 shape and is comfortable conceding possession while looking to attack quickly in transition. Croatian striker Petar Musa remains the focal point of the attack after scoring 18 goals last season.

Last Time Out

The last meeting between the two sides occurred last August in Dallas, a match best remembered for Son scoring his first goal for Los Angeles FC.

The South Korean star opened the scoring early with a curling free kick that sailed past the Dallas wall and into the net, marking his long-awaited first strike for the Black & Gold. Dallas responded minutes later, and the match eventually finished in a 1-1 draw.

Saturday’s meeting at BMO Stadium will be the first time the clubs face each other since that night — and the first rematch since Son’s breakthrough moment in an LAFC shirt.

Keys to the Match

Containing Musa will be one of LAFC’s primary defensive challenges. Dallas frequently looks to stretch defenses and deliver service into the box for its physical striker.

At the same time, LAFC’s early success has come from balance. The team has combined attacking depth with disciplined defending, something midfielder Mathieu Choinière said remains the group’s focus.

“We want to be good offensively, but also defensively,” Choinière said. “If we’re good defensively, we’re going to have more chances offensively.”

If that formula holds, LAFC could continue building momentum in front of a home crowd that has yet to see the team in MLS play this season.
