The LA Galaxy announced veteran German midfielder has signed a contract extension that will keep him in Southern California through December 2027.

Reus, who turns 37 this May, joined the Galaxy in August 2024 and later lifted his first trophy as a professional after the club went on to win MLS Cup.

Since his arrival, he has registered an impressive 22 goal contributions in 42 appearances across all competitions.

“Marco brings an incredible level of quality, experience, and leadership to our group,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Will Kuntz in a statement. “His professionalism and standards elevate everyone around him both on the pitch and in the locker room. We’re excited that Marco will continue to be a part of the Galaxy family.”

The extension means Reus will likely finish his illustrious career in LA.

Prior to his stateside move, Reus was the heart and soul of Borussia Dortmund for over a decade. He made 429 appearances for BVB, scoring 170 goals and adding 131 assists, forming the core of some of the most dynamic teams in modern Bundesliga history.

In addition to his time with Dortmund, he made 109 appearances for Borussia Mönchengladbach, contributing 69 goals. A two-time German Footballer of the Year (2012, 2019) and three-time VDV Player of the Season, Reus won the DFB-Pokal twice (2017, 2021) and the German Super Cup three times with Dortmund.

Reus and the Galaxy are back in action tonight against Charlotte at 7:30 p.m.
