LAS VEGAS -- Just like that, the excitement surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders has taken a massive turn.
On Sunday, Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty left practice early after sustaining an apparent right knee injury.
During a passing play, Jeanty got tangled up with defensive back Darien Porter while diving for the ball and went down on the field.
The team took a collective moment of silence and knelt in prayer while trainers tended to Jeanty. The running back would eventually come off the field, unable to put any pressure on his right leg.
It is a tremendous blow for the Raiders, as Jeanty was expected to have a featured role in Klint Kubiak’s offense. Now, the team waits for an update on the 2025 sixth overall pick.
Currently, Mike Washington Jr. would be up next on the depth chart.
This story is still developing. Updates will be provided when available.
