HENDERSON, Nev. -- As the Raiders continue their search for a new head coach after firing Pete Caroll, who led the team to the worst record in the NFL after his first and only year with the storied franchise, there was some good news to come from the team's headquarters.

The National Football League announced the six finalists for the Rookie of the Year award on Tuesday, with Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty on the list.

The winner will be selected by a fan vote through nfl.com/rookies. Through the end of the voting period on Friday, Jan. 30, fans will be able to learn more about the Rookie of the Year finalists via the league's social media channels.

Also named among finalists were New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger and New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough.

The six finalists were selected for their outstanding performances this past season, as six nominees were chosen weekly and fans voted for the winner on NFL.com. Those results were used to help determine the finalists.

Jeanty, surprisingly listed at +30,000 at DraftKings, led all rookies in scrimmage yards and broke the franchise record for most scrimmage yards by a rookie (1,321).

The former Boise State star and 2024 Doak Walker Award winner, whom the Raiders selected sixth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, had the second-most rushing yards per game (57.4) this season.

Jeanty became the third rookie all-time with at least 50 receptions (55), five rushing touchdowns (five) and five receiving touchdowns (five), joining Alvin Kamara and Pro Football Hall of Famer Charley Taylor.

With the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 draft, the Raiders are poised to have the youngest and one of the most talented 1-2 backfield punches if they select a quarterback - Indiana's Fernando Mendoza, perhaps - in April.
