A new month brings a brand new board. December opens with action across the NBA and NHL, along with a Monday Night Football matchup in Foxborough between two teams going in opposite directions. As the NBA and NHL heat up, while the NFL playoff picture begins to take form, there is value to be found across the board. Today’s slate presents an opportunity to start a new month on a high note. First Pick: Lakers -4.5

Rundown: The Los Angeles Lakers (15-4) welcome the Phoenix Suns (12-9) to the Crypto.com Arena looking to extend their win streak to eight games. Through 19 games, the Lakers have posted 13 ATS wins, five of which came as favorites of at least 4.5 points. Los Angeles’ offense has been prolific to this point, averaging 119.6 points per game, ranking 8th in the NBA.

Phoenix’s success has come on the defensive side, where they rank 8th-best in the league in points allowed (114.0). Los Angeles is 13-1 ATS and 14-0 overall this season when they score more than 114 points, giving LA a path to cover in tonight’s matchup. Los Angeles has not lost at home this season when favored going 5-0. Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves have proven to be one of the most lethal offensive duos in the NBA, averaging a combined 63.9 points per game. Look for Los Angeles to continue their winning ways at home and roll to their 8th consecutive victory.

Second Pick: Ducks Moneyline

Rundown: The Anaheim Ducks (15-9-1) travel to Missouri to take on the St. Louis Blues (9-10-7) at Enterprise Center. Anaheim enters the matchup tied with the Los Angeles Kings atop the Pacific Division, with both teams sitting at 31 points. The Ducks have been more efficient on both ends of the ice this season, ranking third in goals scored and 21st in goals allowed. St. Louis, meanwhile, sits 27th in scoring and 28th in goals conceded. The Blues’ -21 goal differential is the second-worst in the NHL, ahead of only the Nashville Predators. On the second night of a back-to-back, Anaheim will look to regroup and secure a road win in St. Louis.

Third Pick: Giants +7

Rundown: MVP candidate Drake Maye and the first place New England Patriots (10-2) host rookie sensation Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants (2-10) on Monday Night Football. New England enters week 13 winners of nine straight, propelling them to a commanding lead in the AFC East. On the opposing sideline, New York has lost six consecutive games and will be in the hunt for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Despite New York’s underwhelming record, the team has competed with the league’s best on numerous occasions. New York suffered close losses to Dallas, Denver, Chicago, Green Bay and Detroit, which has led to a 7-5 record against the spread. New York is 4-1 ATS this season as an underdog of seven points or more.

Jaxson Dart, who missed the last two weeks after suffering a concussion against Chicago, is set to make his return and provide a spark to New York’s offense. Dart has tossed 10 touchdowns and rushed for seven on the ground in seven career starts.

New England won in Cincinnati last week 26-20, but it would be a costly one. Will Campbell and Jared Wilson, two rookies on the left side of the offensive line, suffered lower body injuries and will miss Monday Night Football. New England’s 2nd-year quarterback Drake Maye will be tested against New York’s pass rush that features 2-time pro bowl defensive end Brian Burns, who has totaled 13 sacks through 12 games.

December football in New England means cold, hard-fought football games that come down to the final minutes. Anticipate New York’s defensive line to cause havoc on the Patriots offensive line and result in covering the touchdown spread.
