On this week’s Veterans Day episode of the SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Go! with Matthew Stafford, Maxx Crosby and Jim Gray,” Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford broke down this weekend’s showdown against division rival Seattle — but it was his co-host who delivered the boldest prediction of the broadcast.

Stafford praised the Seahawks’ recent surge, pointing to quarterback Sam Darnold and a defense that scored twice on Sunday. “We got a big one coming up with Seattle,” Stafford said. “They're as hot as any team in the league right now… It'll be a big challenge for us coming up this week, but looking forward to it.”

But the spotlight quickly turned to Stafford himself.

Maxx Crosby — the Las Vegas Raiders star edge rusher and one of the league’s most respected defensive voices — said Stafford isn’t just playing at an elite level. To Crosby, Stafford belongs in the MVP conversation and has the Rams on track for a deep postseason run.

“People were kind of sleeping on Stafford, like his name wasn't coming up as much as we feel like it should have for the MVP race,” Crosby said. “Then he goes out and gets another win and four touchdown passes… they’re so well-coached, they got a great quarterback, two number one receivers, a great running back, a bunch of young hungry dogs on defense… that’s why they’re always in the mix.”

Crosby didn’t stop there. He called Stafford one of the most difficult quarterbacks he has ever faced — and placed him in rare company.

“There’s a few guys that I go against and you're like, yeah, that guy's special,” Crosby said. “Stafford is definitely in that top five of guys where I’m like, he’s at a different tier. It’s crazy to see how he continues to get better this far along in his career.”

Then came the headline moment.

“I think the Rams are gonna be in the NFC Championship game this year,” Crosby declared. “For him, he really wants to solidify his legacy and take this team to the end. And they’ve got enough talent to do it… They’re really well coached and they got a great quarterback, so they’re gonna have a chance.”

Crosby, a Michigan native and lifelong Lions fan, said getting to work alongside Stafford on the show still feels surreal. “Being able to be on the podcast with him now, it's like the little kid in me is like, this is a simulation,” he said.

The episode also featured a special Veterans Day interview with retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, author of “Lone Survivor.” But it was Crosby’s public endorsement — calling Stafford the MVP and predicting a deep playoff run — that stole the show.
