LOS ANGELES -- For the first time in his 17-year NFL career, Matthew Stafford is the league’s MVP frontrunner.
The Los Angeles Rams quarterback has surged to the top of the MVP board at BetOnline.ag after a historic run that no other player in NFL history has matched. Stafford has thrown four or more touchdowns with zero interceptions in three straight games, a feat that has vaulted him ahead of some of the league’s biggest names in the latest odds.
Stafford now has 25 touchdowns and just two interceptions on the season, including 20 touchdown passes without a pick over the last six weeks — a stretch that has powered the Rams back into contention and pushed him into the national spotlight.
Just last week, Stafford was fourth in the MVP odds behind Josh Allen, Drake Maye and Patrick Mahomes. But after another dominant outing, he now sits atop the board at 3/1. Maye remains second at 7/2, while Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has moved into third at 5/1 after another three-touchdown performance.
Mahomes (6/1) and Allen (7/1) have slid slightly, while Sam Darnold sits at 8/1. Jalen Hurts follows at 20/1, with Jordan Love and Lamar Jackson each at 22/1.
Further down the board are Baker Mayfield and Justin Herbert at 28/1, Jared Goff at 33/1 and Daniel Jones at 50/1. Rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who continues to climb statistically, remains a longshot at 100/1.
The MVP race remains fluid and subject to dramatic swings as the season progresses. But for now, Stafford — long considered one of the league’s toughest and most talented passers — is finally the favorite to take home the NFL’s most prestigious individual award.
