Chargers' Justin Herbert dominates the weekend gossip columns (Los Angeles Chargers)

Justin Herbert #10 of the Los Angeles Chargers celebrates during the second half against the Tennessee Titans at SoFi Stadium on November 10, 2024 in Inglewood, California.

On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Chargers (5-3) absolutely thrashed the Vikings 37-10. Coach Jim Harbaugh said that his team was very "violent," playing with a "violent intent." Football experts even think that their Navy Blue uniforms made them look even "meaner"! After this big win, the players got a few days off to "live their lives."

And during this break, Justin Herbert’s big transformation was noticed. Earlier, he used to be super private about his dating life, "like Batman," and would go off to his farm in Oregon during long breaks. But now, he’s blended into Los Angeles’ social life - sitting courtside at Laker games, going to Dodgers World Series games, and attending celebrity parties.

Recently, fans witnessed a viral social media moment when he saved his date, Madison Beer, from a fast-approaching basketball while sitting courtside during Friday’s game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers.

After this protective gesture, social media started calling him a "knight in shining armor," and even teammate Tony Jefferson gave him respect.

But it’s not just Herbert - Oronde Gadsden II has also been shining in the team. The fifth-round pick has put up 309 yards in the last three games, making him only the third rookie tight end since 1970 to have 300+ yards in three games.

Gadsden’s presence is also helping other playmakers, as defenses now have to pay attention to him, which will leave receivers like Ladd McConkey open. All this is proof that the coaching staff’s drafting and player development is going well.

Now, coming to the injury report: Derwin James Jr. has a low ankle sprain, but thanks to the mini-bye, he’s expected to return soon. However, Tarheeb Still has an MCL sprain and will likely be out for 2 to 4 weeks. The good news is that R.J. Mickens stepped in for Derwin James. The O-Line is also looking pretty stable, especially with Joe Alt, who, despite being a bit injured, is still triple-teaming to protect Herbert.

Looking ahead, the toughest post-bye opponent will be the Chiefs, who they’ll play at Arrowhead - tougher than the Broncos. But Chargers fans are loving the Navy Blue jerseys and want them to be worn all the time. Some people think it might become a case of "too much of a good thing" if they wear them every game. And if you have kids at home, make a note: on Dec. 8, the Chargers vs. Eagles game will be a special "Monsters Funday Football Edition," in collaboration with Monsters Inc., airing on ESPN and Disney channels to connect kids with the NFL.
