LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic is now the face of the August issue of Men’s Health, revealing a dramatically leaner physique and opening up about an intense offseason training regimen designed to take his game—and body—to the next level.

In the feature titled “Luka Dončić 2.0 Has Entered the Chat,” the five-time NBA All-Star details how he rebuilt his body over the past few months with a gluten-free, low-sugar diet, consuming at least 250 grams of protein daily and working out twice a day under the guidance of his personal Team Luka: a physiotherapist, trainer, and nutritionist.
“If I stop now,” Doncic told Men’s Health, “it was all for nothing.” He adds simply: “Just visually, I would say my whole body looks better."
The transformation comes amid criticism he received earlier in the year over his conditioning following a midseason trade from the Dallas Mavericks to the Lakers. At the time, pundits and team executives raised concerns about Doncic’s weight and fitness, with some suggesting he could learn from LeBron James’ rigorous dedication to physical maintenance.
In addition to visual changes, inserts in the Men’s Health spread describe one of his offseason workouts in Croatia: a 90-minute fasted session combining weight training, agility drills and court shooting, followed by a protein-rich almond-milk shake.
Now heading into what will be his first full season with the Lakers, Doncic appears determined to match his fitness level to his immense basketball talent, with fans and analysts alike watching to see if “Luka 2.0” delivers a championship-caliber season.
