Angel City FC midfielder Jun Endo (18) comes back from injury at an NWSL game against the Chicago Stars on Saturday June 7th, 2025 in Los Angeles, California.

LOS ANGELES--Under the direction of new head coach Alexander Straus, Angel City closed out a back-and-forth battle against the Chicago Red Stars with a 2-2 draw. Fans witnessed a night of many firsts with Kennedy Fuller and M.A. Vignola netting their first goals of the season, and Hannah Johnson making her first NWSL debut alongside Straus’s US coaching debut.

Angel City started strong defensively but struggled to find their rhythm until later in the first half. 18-year-old Fuller scored in the 30th minute of the match, putting Angel City on the scoreboard first and earning her first NWSL career goal. After breaking through Chicago's defensive lines with a cross from Julie Dufour, Fuller sent the ball from outside the six straight to the back of the net.

Three minutes into the first half, Angel City fans welcomed back defender Savy King with cheers that filled the stadium. King made her first appearance since she collapsed on May 9 against the Utah Royals and underwent heart surgery in the days following. She is currently out on “medical leave.”
