CLEVELAND -- After spending the last month on the team's injured list, Mike Trout will be returning to the Angels Friday night, ahead of their three-game road series against the Cleveland Guardians.
The news was originally reported on Thursday by Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. The Angels made the move official this afternoon.

Trout, 33, has been out of the Angels' lineup since April 30, when he was pulled out of the fourth inning against the Seattle Mariners. Trout was later diagnosed with a bone bruise on his left knee, the same knee that he suffered a torn meniscus on last season.
On Saturday, Angels manager Ron Washington said that he believes Trout was on the right track and there would be a few more obstacles before he could rejoin the roster.
"I think he’s exactly where you see him. At least he’s hitting." Washington said during Saturday's pregame media availability.
The journey to return to the Angels' lineup did not require him to go on a rehab assignment in the minor leagues. He was required to run on a zero-gravity Alter-G treadmill, run 90 yards, and then run the basepaths.
Although he never ran the bases at full speed, Trout did run them for the second time on Thursday and faced live pitching.
Trout, a former three-time American League MVP, has had a difficult start to the year after slashing .179/.264/.462 with 36 strikeouts. Right now, he is tied for third in home runs on the Angels with 9.
Following the addition of Trout back in the lineup, the Angels optioned outfielder Matthew Lugo to Triple-A.
