LOS ANGELES -- There is an update on Sparks guard Rae Burrell after she got hurt on Friday night in their game against the Golden State Valkyries.
Injury Update: Rae Burrell suffered a right leg injury during last night’s win over Golden State. She will be out six to eight weeks and is expected to make a full recovery.

The injury occurred in the first quarter with a little over three minutes left in the first quarter. She contested a Carla Leite three-pointer but landed awkwardly on her leg. She was carried out of the court. Burrell only played 41 seconds before leaving.
Burrell was drafted by the Sparks in the first round (9th overall) in the 2022 WNBA Draft. She only played three games in her rookie season due to a foot injury. In the following year, she was cut before the season. The Sparks then signed her back to a hardship deal before keeping her for the rest of the season. She has been with the Sparks since.
Burrell averaged 5.9 points while shooting .333 from behind the arc last season. She was poised to have a bigger role for Los Angeles this season.
