The Golden Knights will win the division Saturday night if they beat the Predators. The Knights come into the game with a 48-22-9 record, and Nashville with a 29-42-8 record.
Head Coach Bruce Cassidy mentioned postgame Thursday regarding the chance to win the division next game the division for granted.
"It's an accomplishment to be able to do it. It's not easy to do it. Some teams in our division haven't done it in years, so it's not automatic. We've put a lot of work into it. I'd say it's very satisfying."
Brayden McNabb, who made the crucial game-saving play, blocked a Brandon Montour attempt with only 19 seconds left, and he shared his emotions after putting it all on the line to save his team from playing a potential overtime period.
"I don't even know (what happened)." "Next thing you know, I was on the ground, and the puck was there, and I just pushed it away."
Last 10 Games
The Knights are 7-3 with one overtime loss in the last 10 games, winning 3 of their last 5. In their last game, the Knights won 2-1 last time out, with the goals coming from Ivan Barbashev and William Karlsson.
Nashville will come into the game 3-7 in their last 10 games, looking to end their disappointing season on a positive note after another tough run of games as of late.
Opposing Players to watch
Former Golden Knights misfit Jonathan Marchessault has 4 assists in his last 5 games and returns to the fortress for the first time since his departure after playing for Vegas for the first seven seasons of the Golden Knights franchise.
Their starting Goalie, Juuse Saros, has four shutouts this season and a save percentage of .896%. Saros made 39 saves in their win against Utah last time out on Thursday, including three shootout saves, which led to a victory.
