CARSON, Calif. -- LA Galaxy midfielder Riqui Puig underwent successful surgery on his left knee to repair a torn ACL on Wednesday.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Ramón Cugat at the Quirónsalud Barcelona Hospital in Barcelona, Spain.

Puig suffered the injury during the Western Conference Final against the Seattle Sounders on Nov. 30, but remarkably played over 30 minutes with the injury and provided the game-winning assist.
The 24-year-old had a breakout season in 2024, contributing 37 goals and assists in 36 matches for the Galaxy.
Puig’s performances earned him a spot on the MLS Best XI. Puig had eight goal contributions (4 G, 4 A) in the postseason, as the Galaxy went on to clinch their sixth MLS Cup title.
Puig’s recovery timeline will be determined in the coming weeks.
