San Diego State has hit the road this weekend for the first time in Mountain West Conference play, as the Aztecs travel to Laramie, Wyo. to face the Wyoming Cowboys at War Memorial Stadium at 12:30 p.m.

The Aztecs (2-3, 1-0 Mountain West) are coming off a 27-24 win over Hawaii, where edge rusher Trey White put together his second straight 3.0-sack game to move into the NCAA and conference lead with 9.0 sacks on the season. Danny O'Neil orchestrated a fourth quarter drive to put SDSU back in front and the defense made it stand up for good with a critical fourth down stop with 1:18 remaining.

Wyoming(1-4, 1-0) is coming off a bye week after collecting a 31-19 home win against Air Force on Sept. 28. Dual-threat quarterback Evan Svoboda is averaging 125.6 yards passing with a 49.1% completion percentage per game while carrying 52 times for 131 yards and four touchdowns. Tight end John Michael Gyllenborg has made his presence felt the last two games since returning from injury, catching nine balls for a team-best 126 yards. Linebacker Shae Suiaunoa leads the Cowboy defense in tackles (40), tackles for loss (5.0) and QB hurries (2) - opponents are converting only 29.69% of their third downs against Wyoming, which ranks 13th in the nation.

SDSU has not traveled to Laramie since the 2016 Mountain West Championship game, where they claimed their most recent conference crown with a 27-24 win thanks to a 242-95 rushing yards advantage. The Aztecs won the 2019 meeting at then-Qualcomm Stadium 26-22. Wyoming handed then-No. 24 Fresno State their first loss in 2023 at home, and have posted a 3-4 record at home against California schools while going 4-10 against the trio since 2014.
