Steve Helwick has worked as a sports writer and reporter since 2016, primarily specializing in college football. Based in Texas, he covered Houston, Rice, SMU, AAC, Big 12, CUSA, and MAC football on the SB Nation network. Steve has traveled to 24 different FBS stadiums, covered 19 bowl games, and is a member of the voting committee for the Davey O'Brien and Doak Walker Awards. He graduated in 2019 with a degree in mathematics from the University of Texas, where he reported on Longhorn football and basketball for the student paper and broadcasting station.
