Takeaways from the Clippers 102-92 win over the Warriors

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Clippers take care of the shorthanded Golden State Warriors 102-92 on Friday night. Los Angeles is 3-0 against Golden State this season. The Clippers are now 18-13 after the win and will once again hit the road for another three-game road trip starting on Monday in New Orleans agains the Pelicans.

Here are some takeaways from the Clippers win over the Warriors:

Balance attack leads the Clips

The Clippers spread the ball around in today’s win game and it led to a solid offensive performance in the win.

Usually it’s Norman Powell and James Harden having the big offensive nights for the Clippers but tonight they saw a group effort.

Los Angeles had six players in double figures led by Powell with 24 points.

The balance effort was needed to close out a Warriors team who got hot late in the game.

Defense wins games even in today’s NBA

The Clippers didn’t have a big offensive explosion with their balance attack but they didn’t need it tonight.

Los Angeles’ defense which is one of the leagues best shined tonight.

The Clippers made sure they didn’t allow the Warriors without superstar Steph Curry and  Draymond Green to get much going offensively.

Ivica Zubac led the defense in the win with 5 blocks including a big block on Moses Moodey in the fourth quarter to seal it for Los Angeles .

Los Angeles made it tough for the Warriors throughout until a late surge by the Warriors.

Whenever you can hold a team under 100 points in today’s NBA it’s a great achievement and Clippers did it again tonight.

This was their 8th game allowing less than 100 points in a game this season.

The Clips continue to play well at home

With Friday’s win, the Clippers have now won 11 of their last 13 home games.

It seems like a long time ago when the Clippers started 0-4 at their new arena, the Intuit Dome.

Los Angeles is 11-6 after tonight’s win and have been one of the better home teams after their early struggles.

Their next home game is January 4th against the Atlanta Hawks and we may even see Kawhi Leonard available to help keep the positive play at home for the Clippers.
