Takeaways from the Clippers 134-128 loss to the Thunder
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Clippers can’t do enough to protect the ball and slow down the Thunder in their 134-128 loss on Monday night. This loss puts an end to the Clippers four-game winning streak. The Clippers are now 6-5 and will now face off with the Rockets in back to back road games.

The Clippers struggle to contain SGA
The Thunder offense most important piece dominates the top five ranked Clippers defense.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 45 points adding 9 assists on his way to helping the Thunder pick up the win over the hot Clippers.
Gilgeous-Alexander was unstoppable scoring from all over the floor for Oklahoma City and got others involved as well.
The former Clipper helped close out the game tonight by accounting for 11 points in the last 5:30 of the fourth quarter.
The first time these two teams matchups up Gilgeous-Alexander scored 25 points in their 105-92 win in Los Angeles. He nearly double his output in this game giving Los Angeles problems from the tip-off.
Powell continues his scoring streak
Norman Powell fouled out for the first time this season but that didn’t stop him from lighting up one of the better team’s in the NBA.
Powell continues to score 20+ a game making it ten-straight game’s for the former Bruin.
Powell finished tonight’s game with 31 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He shot 60+% from the field and the 3-point line.
The 12-year pro is showing that he can be a consistent scorer for the team even without Kawhi Leonard.
Turnovers continue to be an issues for Los Angeles
Clippers coach Tyronn Lue has spoke in most press conferences about the team’s turnover issue. The turnovers were a big reason why the team loss tonight’s game.
Los Angeles turned the ball over 23 times against Oklahoma City.
Eight of the nine players that entered the game for Los Angeles turned the ball over at least twice. James Harden had 5 followed by Ivica Zubac with 4.
It was the difference in this game as the Thunder only turned the ball over 11 times.
In a game so close against one of the elite teams in the NBA you have to protect the ball. Their issues with turnovers finally caught up with them again ending their four game winning streak.
With a team missing one of its star players they must find a way to protect the ball to win against the premier teams.
