LAS VEGAS — Vasiliy Lomachenko is coming back to boxing.
The three-division world champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist announced Thursday that he has ended his retirement and signed a multi-year co-promotional agreement with Top Rank through his new company, Loma Power Promotions. Lomachenko will return at super featherweight, where he plans to chase the biggest fights available at 130 pounds, and he is targeting an early 2027 return to the ring.
Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) announced his retirement in June 2025. Top Rank has promoted the Ukrainian since he turned pro in 2013, and the reunion comes with a clear goal attached. Lomachenko wants to become an undisputed champion, something he fell short of when he challenged Devin Haney for the undisputed lightweight crown in May 2023.

Top Rank and Loma Power Promotions announced Lomachenko's re-signing Thursday.
“Vasiliy is one of the most gifted fighters I’ve ever promoted, and I’m delighted he’s returning to the ring,” Top Rank chairman Bob Arum said. “There’s tremendous talent at super featherweight, and we’re looking forward to working with Loma Power Promotions to put on some terrific fights.”

Lomachenko credited his manager, Egis Klimas, for keeping the door open. “I thought I would never step back into the ring again as a boxer,” Lomachenko said. “Special respect and gratitude to Egis, who, despite my firm belief that my boxing career was over, never stopped believing that we would step into the ring again.” Klimas said Lomachenko still has unfinished business and a dream of becoming undisputed.
Few fighters have climbed as fast. Lomachenko tied a boxing record by winning a world title in his third pro fight, and by his 12th he had claimed titles at featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight, taking the last of those with a May 2018 stoppage of lineal champion Jorge Linares. He entered the pro ranks after a 396-1 amateur career that included two Olympic gold medals and two World Championship golds.

His last run at lightweight ended on a high note. After the Haney loss, Lomachenko stopped George Kambosos Jr. in May 2024 to win the IBF title, then retired as champion the following year. Now, at 130 pounds, he has one thing left to chase.
No opponent or date has been announced for his return.
