First Pick: Hawks -3.5

Rundown: The Los Angeles Lakers (23–14) look to halt a three-game skid as they host the Atlanta Hawks (20–21) at Crypto.com Arena in a non-conference matchup.

Los Angeles is coming off a disappointing 12-point loss to the struggling Sacramento Kings on Monday and could again be shorthanded. Luka Dončić, the NBA’s leading scorer, is questionable after sustaining an inner thigh and groin injury in Monday's defeat. If Dončić is sidelined or limited, it would further challenge a Lakers team searching for offensive consistency, who ranks 18th in the NBA in points per game (115.8). Los Angeles will also be motivated by revenge, having suffered a 20-point loss in Atlanta back in November.

Atlanta enters the matchup trending upward, riding a three-game winning streak highlighted by statement victories over Golden State, Denver, and New Orleans. The Hawks have been particularly dependable away from home, covering the spread in 14 of 23 road games this season. Much of their success continues to run through forward Jalen Johnson, who leads the team in points, rebounds, and assists through 41 games, providing Atlanta with a versatile and reliable engine on both ends of the floor.

Given Atlanta’s strong road form and the uncertainty surrounding Dončić’s availability, the Hawks are well-positioned to stay in rhythm and extend its winning streak to four.

Second Pick: Anaheim Ducks Moneyline

Rundown: The Anaheim Ducks (21-21-3) return to the Honda Center looking to snap a nine-game losing streak as they host the Dallas Stars (27-10-9) in a Western Conference matchup.

The Ducks are poised to win eventually... right?

Anaheim enters having dropped nine straight games and 11 of its last 12, a stretch that has sent the club tumbling down the Pacific Division standings and out of a playoff position. There were faint signs of life late in Saturday’s 5-3 loss to Buffalo, when Anaheim scored three goals in the final five minutes of the third period to keep the game close as the final buzzer sounded. The first order of business to get back on track, Anaheim’s defense, which allows a league-worst 3.73 goals per game, must do a better job limiting scoring chances and giving its offense an opportunity to lead the way.

On the other side, Dallas arrives in Orange County fresh off a 3-1 road win over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday at Crypto.com Arena. The Stars remain one of the Western Conference’s most consistent teams; however, this matchup marks the second half of a back-to-back for Dallas, while Anaheim is on two days rest. That combination of desperation, rest and home-ice familiarity could provide the formula Anaheim needs to finally turn the page.

Expect the Ducks to open the game with urgency and earn a much-needed victory against a quality Western Conference foe.
