LOS ANGELES — A new social media study shows the majority of Americans are pulling for the Milwaukee Brewers to win their first-ever World Series title.

According to data compiled by BetOnline.ag, which analyzed more than 130,000 geotagged posts on X (formerly Twitter) over the weekend, fans in 30 U.S. states are rooting for the Brewers to win the 2025 World Series. The Brewers topped a nationwide sentiment map that tracked tweets, hashtags, and keyword phrases such as “I’m rooting for Seattle,” “Go Brewers,” and “#DodgersNation.”

The analysis included popular team-related hashtags like #ThisIsMyCrew (Brewers), #SeizeTheMoment (Mariners), #WANTITALL (Blue Jays), and #DodgersNation (Dodgers).

The Brewers were the overwhelming fan favorite across the Midwest, South, and parts of the East Coast, followed by the Seattle Mariners, who led in 15 states. The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed support in three states — California, Hawaii, and Nevada — while the Toronto Blue Jays were the top pick in two northeastern states, New Hampshire and Vermont.

In all, 90 percent of states are rooting for a first-time World Series champion, with the Brewers, Mariners, Padres, Rockies, and Rays still seeking their first title. Among those teams, the Mariners remain the only franchise never to appear in a World Series.

The Brewers’ national popularity may stem from a combination of underdog appeal and emotion, the study suggested. Milwaukee entered the postseason with the lowest payroll among the remaining four teams, ranking 23rd in Major League Baseball, compared to the Dodgers (2nd), Blue Jays (5th), and Mariners (16th).

Fans have also rallied around the club following the death of longtime broadcaster Bob Uecker in January, a beloved figure synonymous with Brewers baseball for more than 50 years.

Here’s how the rooting interest broke down by state:

  • Brewers – 30 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin.

  • Mariners – 15 states: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Washington, Wyoming.

  • Dodgers – 3 states: California, Hawaii, Nevada.

  • Blue Jays – 2 states: New Hampshire, Vermont.

The Brewers’ quest for their first championship continues to capture the hearts of fans nationwide — many of whom appear to be embracing Milwaukee’s small-market story and the chance to see a new team finally hoist the trophy.
