After getting swept by the Seattle Mariners in four games, the Los Angeles Angels will continue their road trip with a visit to Anderson Family Field to take on the Milwaukee Brewers in a three-game set, starting Tuesday, Sep. 16.
As a result of the sweep, the Angels are now officially eliminated from playoff contention for the 11th straight season, the longest active streak in Major League Baseball.
Below, you can find the team previews, including where to watch, game details, injury reports, and odds.
TEAM PREVIEWS:
Angels: Los Angeles (69-81) now sits in sole possession of the last spot in the AL West, as the Athletics overtook the fourth spot in the division this past weekend. It's been yet another season of struggle for the Angels, who once again cannot seem to avoid the injury bug.
Zach Neto missed the last three games after reaggravating a wrist injury on a swing. The aggrevation stemmed from when Neto was hit by a pitch on his left wrist on Aug. 20. In their last game of the series against Seattle, Yoan Moncada was taken out of the game with left ankle soreness and is listed as day-to-day.
The blows have continued, as reliever Reid Detmers was placed on the IL recently for left elbow inflammation. In a relief appearance on Sep. 10, his velocity was down and he felt discomfort in his forearm, which may be discouraging for his 2026 campaign.
The Angels have just four series remaining on schedule. After the Brewers, they will take on the Colorado Rockies before hosting a final homestand in 2025.
Brewers: Milwaukee (91-59) is on the complete opposite spectrum as the Angels, as they boast the league’s best record by a narrow margin. The Brewers have been the hottest team in baseball in the second half, anchored by a strong starting rotation.
The Angels will go up against the heart of the Brewers’ rotation, opening the series against ace Freddy Peralta. Peralta did not allow a run in five consecutive starts up until allowing five against the Texas Rangers on Sep. 10.
Over the weekend, the Brewers became the first team in the league to officially punch their ticket into the postseason. Their magic number to win the NL Central sits at eight, as they hold a five game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the division.
After suffering a sweep to the Rangers lst week, Milwaukee regained steam in winning two of three against the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend. The team is 6-6 so far in the month of September.
