LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers have made yet another trade ahead of the deadline, trading outfielder James Outman to the Minnesota Twins for right-handed reliever Brock Stewart.

It'll be a reunion for Stewart and the Dodgers, as the 33-year-old was drafted by Los Angeles in 2014 and would later make his MLB debut with the club in 2016. He would spend the next four years with Los Angeles, posting a 5.46 ERA across 36 appearances, which included 11 starts in that stretch.

Stewart has reinvented himself since his early years, as in 2025, he has posted a 2.38 ERA across 34 innings. His strikeout numbers have also jolted as he has struck out 41 batters so far.

In Stewart's last year with Los Angeles, back in 2019, he averaged 91 mph on his fastball, which is a significant improvement compared to his 2025 fastball, which tops out at 96 mph.

As for Outman, the 28-year-old has played in only 75 games over a stretch dating back to last season. The former Dodgers outfielder burst onto the scene as a new emerging young talent back in 2023, slashing .248/.353/.437 in 151 games played, along with 23 home runs and 70 RBI.

Outman has not delivered the same production as past years have shown, as in 22 games played in 2025, he has provided a cold slash line of .103/.205/.282.

With the addition of Stewart, a solid right-handed acquisition, the Dodgers have a ton of reinforcements in the bullpen that can come in and provide sufficient outings to close out games with names such as Blake Treinen, Tanner Scott, Alex Vesia, Michael Kopech, and Kirby Yates at the helm. But injuries and lack of performance have been a recurring theme when it comes to the Dodgers' pen.

With the departure of Outman and Feduccia via trades in the last 24 hours, the Dodgers currently have 15 position players who are active on the 40-man roster.
