RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. -- The Dodgers are one step closer to adding yet another crucial arm piece to their rotation as left-hander Blake Snell took his first step in his return to Dodger Blue, completing his first rehab stint at Rancho Cucamonga.
Snell was limited to 30 pitches in this rehab start, but exceeded that by one pitch more, totaling a final count of 31 pitches, 23 of which were strikes. His final line was two scoreless innings, only allowing two hits, no free passes, and striking out four.

Snell topped out at 97 mph on his fastball, and his curve was simply untouchable as he was keeping the Inland Empire 66ers hitters on their toes to begin the game. As mentioned, Snell's command stood out above all, and he noted that as well in his post-game presser.

"I was just trying to throw strikes and get outs in the zone," Snell said, "You come out here to work, but also get strikes, or if you feel like a chase will come, you can chase that one time and get back in the zone."
There is no word on what the next steps will be for the 32-year-old southpaw.

In other rehab news, Blake Treinen completed a rehab assignment of his own, this time for the OKC Comets as their opener. He was on a shorter leash than Snell, only tossing one complete inning on 12 pitches, eight of which were strikes, and struck out two.
Treinen topped out at 96 mph on his sinker and had one swing and miss on his sweeper. The 37-year-old looked healthy in his rehab start, but just like Snell, there is no word on what the next plan of action will be for the veteran.
