LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Clippers, Utah Jazz, and Miami Heat have agreed to a three-team trade that will send Norman Powell to Miami, John Collins to Los Angeles, and Kevin Love, Kyle Anderson, and a 2027 second-round pick from the Clippers to Utah.
The deal, finalized Monday, reshapes each team's roster with an eye on both immediate needs and long-term flexibility.

The Clippers have long coveted a power forward to shift Kawhi Leonard back to the small forward position, where he felt most comfortable on the defensive end. With Collins now in the fray, Leonard will presumably play at the "three," with Collins slotting perfectly at the "four."
Powell, a scoring wing, averaged 21.8 points per game last season for the Clippers, giving the Heat another reliable offensive option and playoff-tested veteran as they look to retool their roster around Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo.
After Leonard sat for half of the 2024-2025 season, Powell was sensational in his expanded role without Paul George. He became the second scoring option next to James Harden and thrived, achieving a career-high in points per game, and was a borderline All-Star selection.

Without Powell, the Clippers would likely never have won 50 games for the second straight season, as his struggles in the postseason and defensive lapses contributed to a potential trade, given that his contract expires after the 2025-2026 season.
Collins, 27, joins a Clippers frontcourt that needed another dynamic wing to add to their rotation of Derrick Jones Jr. and Nicolas Batum. The high-flying forward averaged 19 points and 8.2 rebounds for Utah last season and brings energy and athleticism to a reshaped Los Angeles starting lineup.
The Clippers are still below the first apron salary line, and have the $5.3 million Non-Tax Mid-Level exception to use for adding another piece to their rotation. With the roster currently standing at 13, the Clippers will undoubtedly look at Chris Paul and Bradley Beal (if the Phoenix Suns buy him out) as the last two pieces to the depth chart.

Utah, meanwhile, receives veteran forward Kevin Love, versatile swingman Kyle Anderson, and a 2027 second-round pick from the Clippers. Love, 35, averaged 5.3 points and 4.1 rebounds in a reserve role for the Heat last season. Anderson spent the past season with the Warriors and Heat, averaging 5.9 points, 2.4 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game.
The trade adds salary cap relief to a young Jazz roster, while allowing both Miami and Los Angeles to fine-tune their rotations for the 2025-26 season.
