SEATTLE -- LAFC's perfect start to MLS play came to an end as they were defeated 5-2 at the hands of the Seattle Sounders on Saturday afternoon at Lumen Field.

Making his first appearance of the season for Los Angeles, goalie Thomas Hasal conceded three late goals in the later stages of the match as Seattle earned their first MLS win of the year.

It was Kalani Kossa-Rienzi who struck first for the Sounders in the 11th minute. However, Nathan Ordaz and LAFC had the equalizer in the 37th minute on the 21-year-old's first score of the season.

Following a tense 20 minutes of play, Paul Rothrock broke the tie for Seattle with a 57th-minute strike from deep range that just snuck past the dive of Hasal. The momentum only grew for the Sounders as Jordan Morris effectively sealed the game with a 77th-minute score.

It was a historic goal for Morris, who is now the all-time leading scorer in Sounders' club history after securing the 87th of his career with Seattle.

Cristian Roldan would make it 4-1 just seven minutes later, before David Martinez finally managed to end the scoring drought for Los Angeles late in stoppage time.

The 19-year-old continues to flash his potential. It was a very impressive first goal of 2025 as he navigated through traffic to take it the distance for LAFC's second of the day.

Los Angeles would, however, ultimately fall 5-2 after one last stoppage time score from Seattle's Alberrt Rusnak. The squad will look to bounce back as they return to play on Tuesday in Colombus in the second leg of their round of 16 matchup in the CONCACAF Champion's Cup.

Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PT.
