SAN DIEGO -- San Diego FC are ready to start the 2025 Season at their official Home Opener Match Versus St. Louis City SC at Snapdragon Stadium. San Diego FC reports limited tickets remain for Saturday's Showdown with a record crowd expected.
Luckily for San Diego FC players and staff, the pressure is off and the momentum is flowing like Head Coach Mikey Varas stated at their press conference Yesterday ahead of Saturday’s Game.
San Diego FC started off their Inaugural Season away at LA Galaxy last Saturday coming off with a 2-0 Victory against the 2024 MLS Champions.
A goal by Anders Dreyer in the 52th minute gave SDFC the lead and their first MLS season goal in club history. Anders decided to secure the win with a second goal in the 90’+ 3’ minute of extra time.

With a shutout in Carson, SDFC stopped LA Galaxy’s unbeaten streak at home giving them their first loss at home since October 21,2023.
Now San Diego FC move on to face St. Louis City SC, also one of MLS Newest expansion teams which debuted in 2023. Even though St. Louis has had some success in the League, last season they finished in 12th place with 37 points. St. Louis was eliminated from the 2024 MLS Cup playoffs. Saturday’s game will not only continue to show San Diego’s overall competitiveness in the league, but also how the team compares to other recent Expansion teams.
With the first game under their belt, only a few scrimmages in preseason and a taste of MLS competition at Coachella Valley invitational, San Diego FC has already sent out a warning to all MLS clubs, The Flow is in motion, tread water or go under San Diego FC’s Riptide.
