Las Vegas Golden Knights embrace and celebrate after scoring during an NHL game between the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Washington Capitals, Sunday November 17, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nev.

LAS VEGAS -- The Vegas Golden Knights face off away from home against the St. Louis Blues at 5 pm PST. With Vegas currently, at 29-14-4 on the season, they are still first in the Pacific division despite the poor run of form over the last 10 games, so here are three things the Golden Knights should do tonight to ensure this losing streak does not continue.

1. Scoring First

Over the last 10 games, The Golden Knights have conceded the first goal in four of those games, of those four games in which they had given up the first goal, they only went on to win one of those games, so getting to a hot start is an important key to ending the losing streak as scoring an early goal gives them confidence to both the defenders and the offensive side of the team as well.

2. Defensive Structure & Turnovers

The last time these teams played each other on Monday, January 20, the Golden Knights gave away the puck 15 times to the Blues 8. Limiting the number of times you get dispossessed in areas that can leave your goalkeeper vulnerable is key if Vegas should go on and win tonight.

3. Faceoff Wins & Puck Possession

Being able to win the faceoffs can be a factor that can lead to whether the Golden Knights win or lose. In the last game, the Blues won 36. In contrast, the Golden Knights won 34, and even despite it only being two fewer faceoffs being won, Having the ability to win every possible faceoff can go further into having more possession of the puck, which can lead to more chances to score, Which can pave the way for a Golden Knights win.
