INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Clippers make it two straight by blowing out the Brooklyn Nets 126-67 on Wednesday night. Los Angeles took over the game in the second quarter and never let up. The Clippers are now 22-17 after the win and will be back at it tomorrow night when they travel to Portland to face the TrailBlazers.

Here are some takeaways from the Clippers win over the Nets:

The Clips big 2nd & 3rd quarter helps them take control

For the second straight night, the Clippers had a slow start to the game.

After one quarter, the Clippers were tied with the lowly Nets at 21 apiece.

In the second quarter it was a different story. Los Angeles came out hounding Brooklyn on the defensive end and getting easy shots on the offensive end.

The Clippers outscored the Nets 37-to-14 to give the Los Angels an insurmountable lead.

The third quarter was even better for Los Angeles as they continued their dominance outscoring Brooklyn 44-to-16 putting the game completely out of reach for the visitors.

With the team having a quick turnaround with a game at Portland tomorrow you could see the Clippers pounce on the young Nets team when the opportunity presented itself.

Kawhi has his best outing of the year

Kawhi Leonard finished with a game-high 23 points in the win.

Leonard looked much sharper tonight against the struggling Nets. He was very decisive with moves and really aggressive especially on the offensive end.

The Clippers star shot 8-for-11 from the field and with his attacking style of play tonight he got to the free throw line making all seven of his tries.

Kawhi said it himself that it would take time for him to get back to his peak but tonight showed Clipper fans and the rest of the NBA that he is closer then we think.

Rest for the weary

The Clippers has been in need of rest lately and they were able to get some for their star players in this game.

With the huge blowout victory no starter played more than 24 minutes.

This was key as the Clippers are back on the floor tomorrow as they travel to Portland to play the TrailBlazers.

The Clippers play six games in the next nine games so getting a blowout win tonight was much needed for the team.
