PORTLAND, Ore. – The San Diego Clippers (2-1) lost to the Rip City Remix (0-1) 119-115 at the Chiles Center.
While San Diego put up a good fight, behind a career-high from Cam Christie, who had 38 points on 13-24 shooting, it just wasn’t enough to hold the Remix away.
Rip City was led by Bryce McGowens, who scored 46 of his own, also a career-high.
Braxton Key had yet another double-double, his fourth straight. He is averaging a double-double this season.
Jordan Lathon and Trentyn Flowers had 20 and 23 points respectively, which was good for San Diego considering they had just lost three of their starters.
First, Tosan Evbuomwan was called up to the NBA on a two-way deal with the Brooklyn Nets.
Then, shortly after, Elijah Harkless was given a two-way contract with the Utah Jazz, but was assigned to play with the Salt Lake City Stars. He played in their game yesterday as well, scoring 32 points.
And finally, RayJ Dennis signed a two-way contract as well, but for the Indiana Pacers.
All three players were vital pieces to a solid San Diego roster, and their presence will be missed.
That is the nature of the NBA G League, with the NBA trade season in full effect, this is when G League roster spots tend to have a higher turnaround.
Because of that, the Clippers were able to go and pick up two players, Shakur Daniel and Keyshawn Bryant.

Both Daniel and Bryant played against Rip City. Daniel played 14 minutes, scoring 2 points (on only two shots) but was a plus eight. Bryant played 19 minutes, scoring 6 points and 5 rebounds.
Now with a relatively large roster change, the Clippers will look to regroup in a matchup against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. The game will be played on January 4 at the Sanford Pentagon, and tip-off will be at 5 p.m.
