What's at stake? For the Chargers, they need the victory to stay atop of the AFC wild card picture as they are currently fifth. It also gives them an opportunity to test themselves against the top team in the AFC as they playoffs near.
For the Chiefs, putting away the noise that the Chargers are their biggest threat in the division.
Who's better? Chiefs. Not much to say here. They have won three out of the last four championships.
Matchup to watch: Derwin James vs. Travis Kelce. This is a matchup that has been a highlight reel since James came into the league in 2018. They didn’t face each other in the first meeting because of James’ suspension, but this should be a gladiator style head-to-head.
Chargers win if: they can score points. They need to move the ball offensively and the performance against the Falcons won’t cut it against Kansas City.
Fantasy sleeper: Gus Edwards. OC Greg Roman said they will need to run the ball against Kansas City to win, so that could mean a big day for Edwards. He has yet to have a meaningful performance— Sunday could be that game.
Prediction: The Chargers matchup well against Kansas City especially if Junior Colson and Cam Hart are back. They will get close but this won’t go their way. Chiefs 20 Chargers 16
