The Washington Capitals scored three goals over four minutes to hand the Vegas Golden Knights a 4-2 loss at Capital One Arena on Tuesday.
Victor Olofsson and Jack Eichel scored, while Mark Stone tallied two assists.
“Our execution wasn’t great early on,” Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said. “We just never got to the pace in our game. The execution was very average. … We didn’t find a way to stay in the game because we got to it eventually to give ourselves a chance. But that was probably too big of a hole.”
Olofsson left the game with a lower-body injury late in the third period.
“I don’t have an update, but it didn’t look good,” Cassidy said. “Hopefully, it’s not too severe.”
Former Golden Knights goalie Logan Thompson made 24 saves, while Adin Hill made 18 saves for Vegas.
