LOS ANGELES -- The Lakers officially announce the signing of forward Ziaire Williams on Sunday to fulfill their 15-man roster. He was first reported, by ESPN, to join Los Angeles last week on a one-year, $3 million deal.

Williams, 24, is coming off the best season of his five-year NBA career, averaging career highs of 10.2 points and 1.4 steals while adding 2.4 in 56 games with the Nets last season.
He also posted a career-best 34.3% from 3-point range.
The 6-foot-9 forward scored in double figures 31 times during the 2025-26 season and ranked second among Brooklyn's reserves in scoring.
Originally selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Williams has appeared in 269 career games with Memphis and Brooklyn.
He owns career averages of 8.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 42.2% from the field and 32.2% from beyond the arc.
The Lancaster, California, native has improved his scoring average in each of the last four seasons, developing into a reliable rotation wing on both ends of the floor.
Before entering the NBA, Williams spent one season at Stanford, averaging 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists to earn Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention. He was a five-star recruit out of high school for Sierra Canyon, where he was teammates with current Lakers guard Bronny James Jr.
Williams will wear No. 11 for the Purple and Gold, which was last worn by Jaxson Hayes from 2024 to 2026.
