Despite all the twists and turns WWE men’s Elimination Chamber featured Saturday night, the betting lines from BetOnline.ag remained pretty much on par during the match at the United Center in Chicago.
At the end, it was Randy Orton (+275) who scored the mild upset by pinning Cody Rhodes and punched his ticket to WrestleMania 42, where he’s currently scheduled to battle Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed Championship. However, Orton’s opponent could change before WrestleMania, as McIntyre will defend his title against Rhodes on “SmackDown” this Friday.
Rhodes (-400) was favored to win at Elimination Chamber but was correctly picked, along with Orton, to be the final two participants in the Chamber, at -2000 and -1000, respectively.
Bettors, however, were thrown some curve balls before and during the match, with Logan Paul being a late edition to Elimination Chamber and pinning three competitors before Seth Rollins revealed himself as the masked man and helped Rhodes to eliminate Paul.
Jey Uso, who was listed at 6/1 odds to make it to the Chamber’s final two and 11/1 to win the match, was attacked at the beginning of “SmackDown” this past Friday and was unable to compete, opening the door for Paul.
Beyond the betting lines for the men’s Elimination Chamber, all other lines stayed constant. Rhea Ripley (-300) and Tiffany Stratton (-250) were the favorites to be the final two participants in the women’s Elimination Chamber, while Ripley was favored at -150 to beat Stratton (+110). Both ended up being correct, and Ripley is on her way to WrestleMania for a title shot against Jade Cargill.
Also correctly listed by BetOnline.ag were the betting odds for the other two matches on card: CM Punk vs. Finn Balor, and Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee.
The odds on Punk-Balor listed Punk at -5000 (which makes sense given that it was a homecoming match for Punk) while Balor was listed at +1200. Punk won the match, as excepted, and now will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Title against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.. Lee, meanwhile, was listed at -3000 to defeat Lynch (+ 200), and she did just that while at the same time winning the WWE women’s intercontinental championship.
Both betting lines for Punk-Balor and Lynch-Lee never moved once they were first announced.
