Two playoff hopefuls take the field in Inglewood tonight, and both the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles have question marks regarding the health of key components to their respective lineups.
Most notably, the Chargers are hoping the status of Justin Herbert will work in their favor, as he recently underwent a procedure on his non-throwing hand. If Herbery cannot go, the Chargers will start Trey Lance behind a makeshift offensive line that has been inefficient this season.
The Eagles are dealing with absences on both sides of the ball, as Jalen Carter and Lane Johnson have been ruled out for this game.
Here's a quick glance at Monday's game:
TV: ESPN
LAST TIME OUT: Chargers defeated the Raiders, 31-14; Eagles lost to the Bears, 24-15.
LAST MEETING: The Chargers defeated Philadelphia, 27-24.
VEGAS LINE (courtesy Westgate): Eagles -2, O/U 41.5
BETTING TRENDS: The Eagles have lost two straight both SU and ATS. Prior to that, they won and covered four in a row. If they've won or lost SU, they've done the same at the window in 11 straight games. The Chargers have won four of five SU, but they're mired in a 3-6 ATS skid since late September. The Bolts are on a 3-0 SU and ATS run at SoFi.
CHARGERS KEY PLAYERS: QB Justin Herbert completed 15 of 20 attempts (75%) for 151 yards and two TDs for a 108.5 rating last week. Herbert needs 158 yards passing to become the third-ever with 3,000 or more yards passing with 20 or more TD passes in each of his first six seasons. He aims for his sixth straight with a 60-plus completion percentage, 150 or more yards passing and a touchdown throw at SoFi Stadium. ... RB Jaret Patterson turned in a season-high 54 yards rushing and his first rushing TD of the season last week. He has a rushing TD in two of his past three games against the Eagles. ... WR Keenan Allen had 12 catches for 104 yards in his last meeting against Philly.
PROP TO WATCH: PK Cameron Dicker over 7.5 points (+105)
Dicker has been fantastic for the Chargers this season, converting on 92.9% (26 of 28) of his field-goal attempts and 100% (27 of 27) of his extra-point kicks. And when he's at SoFi, Dicker has 31 points in the past three home games, an average of 10.3 points per game. He's gone over 7.5 points in seven of the Chargers' 12 games this season. The Eagles are going to playing stringent defense with hopes of snapping their losing skid, so we can count on a couple of field goals to help bolster the total.
EAGLES KEY PLAYERS: QB Jalen Hurts passed for 230 yards and two TDs in last week's loss. He has a TD pass in nine of his past 10 games. Hurts comes in ranked sixth in the NFL with a 103.9 rating and tied for seventh with 19 TD passes this season. ... RB Saquon Barkley has 70+ scrimmage yards in 4 of his past 5. Barkley is aiming for 8,000 career yards rushing (7,956). He ranks fourth in the NFL with 10,593 scrimmage yards since 2018. ... TE Dallas Goedert is tied for second among tight ends with 7 receiving TDs this season. He's looking to top the 4,500-yard plateau for his career.
PROP TO WATCH: QB Jalen Hurts anytime TD (+105)
Hurts is coming off a game in which he had no rushing TDs, and a game the Eagles lost to Chicago. He'll be on a mission to put his cape on and lead Philly to a win tonight, and that means using his legs inside the red zone. A tush push should be in play against the Chargers' front line. He has at least one rushing TD in six of the 12 games, a total of eight. At this price, it's well worth it.
