The Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders have both endured disappointing seasons.
The Cowboys had hopes of challenging for the NFC East, while the Raiders were looking for a different vibe under first-year coach Pete Carroll.
Neither team has seen much hope, although Dallas is holding out hope that a late-season run will land them in the Wild Card conversation.
Here's a quick glance at Monday's game:
TV: ESPN
LAST TIME OUT: Raiders lost 10-7 at Denver; Cowboys lost at home, 27-17, to Arizona.
LAST MEETING: Raiders 36, Cowboys 31 (OT) on Nov. 25, 2021
VEGAS LINE (courtesy Westgate): Dallas -3.5, O/U 50.5
BETTING TRENDS: The Cowboys are mired in a losing skid of 1-3 both SU and ATS, while they've gone over in five of their last six games. The Raiders have lost seven of eight since their season-opening loss, and are 2-5-1 ATS in those games. Las Vegas has stayed under in four of five. The Raiders are on a 2-0-1 ATS run against Dallas.
RAIDERS KEY PLAYERS: Geno Smith completed 16 of 26 attempts (61.5%) for 143 yards last week in Denver. He aims for his fourth straight with a passing TD at home. He also aims for his eighth in a row with a completion percentage of 65% or higher. He has a TD pass in four of his past five MNF games. ... RB Ashton Jeanty had 63 scrimmage yards and a rushing TD against Denver's staunch defense. Jeanty ranks tied for first among rookies in scrimmage TDs (7) and 2nd in scrimmage yards (683) and rushing yards (547). He aims for his third in a row with a TD of any kind and fourth in a row with a TD of any kind at home. ... DE Maxx Crosby leads the NFL with 118 tackles for loss since 2019 and is one of two with 10 or more TFL in each of the past seven seasons.
PROP TO WATCH: Ashton Jeanty longest rush over 13 yards (+100)
With Smith struggling the way he has, the Raiders will need their rushing game. The Cowboys rank 24th in the league in rushing yards allowed per attempt at 4.8. Though Jeanty has had just two games with a longest run exceeding 13 yards, he could be due on primetime, against a porous Dallas defense.
COWBOYS KEY PLAYERS: QB Dak Prescott passed for 250 yards and a TD in Week 9, before a bye. He had three or passing TDs and
a 120-plus passer rating in three of his past four on the road. Prescott boasts 1,004 passing yards (252.0 per game) and six passing TDs on primetime since last season. He aims for his third straight on primetime with a passing TD. He had 32 completions on 47 attempts (68.1%) for 375 yards and two passing TDs for a 106.3 rating in the last meeting. He ranks second in the NFL in completions (228) and is tied for third in the NFC with 17 passing TDs and second in passing yards (2,319). ... WR George Pickens had six receptions for 79 yards in Week 9, his fourth straight game with 75 or more receiving yards. He ranks fourth in the NFL in receiving yards (764) this season, and has a receiving TD in three of his past four on the road.
PROP TO WATCH: Dak Prescott over 3.5 rushing attempts (+125)
Prescott has had four or more attempts in his last three games and in four of the last five, an average of 4.8 attempts per game. Against a Las Vegas defense that has been hit or miss all season, it's easy to see Prescott rushing a couple of times, and scrambling a couple more.
