LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas is in negotiations with the NFL to host the Super Bowl in 2029, which would mark the city’s second time staging the league’s championship game.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, discussions are ongoing between the league and city officials about bringing Super Bowl 63 to Allegiant Stadium. A deal has not been finalized, but momentum is building toward an agreement.

If terms are reached, the NFL could announce Las Vegas as the host city when owners gather in New York for their fall meetings in October or at the league’s winter meetings in December. The NFL traditionally awards Super Bowls four years in advance.

The Raiders and Las Vegas submitted a letter of intent to the league within the past year expressing interest in hosting in 2029, 2030 or 2031. Since then, Las Vegas has met the requirements and deadlines necessary to be considered. That has put Southern Nevada in prime position for the 2029 game, while New Orleans remains under consideration for 2031.

Las Vegas previously hosted its first Super Bowl in 2024, when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime. That game drew an estimated 330,000 visitors to Southern Nevada for events and festivities. More than 62,000 fans attended the game itself, while Harry Reid International Airport processed a record 104,000 passengers the day after.

The economic and promotional impact was significant, with Las Vegas reporting 5 billion media impressions and record-breaking television viewership. Local leaders, including Steve Hill of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, have openly stated their desire to make the city a frequent Super Bowl destination.

The NFL declined comment on the ongoing talks, as did the Raiders.

The 2026 Super Bowl will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, followed by SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, in 2027 and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in 2028.

If awarded, Las Vegas would become one of the quickest repeat Super Bowl hosts in league history.
