Los Angeles signed Alissa Pili to a 7-day contract and should be eligible to play against the Indiana Fever on Tuesday.
Pili was the 8th player taken in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx. She played collegiately in Utah which means, yes, she was coached by Lynne Roberts. She originally went to USC from 2019-22 before transferring to Utah for her final two college seasons.
Pili is in her second season in the WNBA. She played under Coach Cheryl Reeve in Minnesota and played a total of 36 games, averaging 2.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in just six minutes of play per game. Pili never found her footing with the Lynx and was waived on July 12th.
She will get another shot at the W again with the Sparks. Pili became Pac-12 Player of the Year in 2023 and an All-American (second team in 2023 and third team in 2024) under Coach Roberts. The Sparks hope she'll do well under her old coach for the next week.
