The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game draft on ESPN delivered exactly the kind of drama fans wanted, especially if they were watching to see where former Las Vegas teammates Kelsey Plum, A’ja Wilson, and Jackie Young would end up.
This year there won’t be any reunion. All three are headed for Indianapolis on July 19, but they’ll wear different uniforms.

Clark Snags Wilson and Young
Caitlin Clark, with the first overall pick, built her squad with scoring and star power in mind. She took Fever teammate Aliyah Boston at No. 1, but in the starter round quickly scooped up A’ja Wilson and in the reserve round Jackie Young.
Wilson, the Aces’ two-time MVP and face of the franchise, brings Team Clark a dominant inside threat and defensive anchor. Young, one of the league’s best two-way guards, gives them perimeter stability and offense.
It wasn’t just about loyalty or friendship for Clark, though, the roster she drafted is young. Only one player on Team Clark is over 30, giving it a fast, modern, spacing-heavy feel.
Collier Blocks the Vegas Reunion with Plum
Meanwhile, Napheesa Collier played spoiler. In the reserves round, Collier grabbed Kelsey Plum in her 17th pick, now of the Los Angeles Sparks.
Plum, who won titles in Las Vegas with Wilson and Young before moving to L.A., is no stranger to playing against her old teammates. But this is the first All-Star Game since her move, and Collier made sure there’d be no reunion under Clark’s team.
Instead, Plum will headline the backcourt for Team Collier. Her elite scoring and shooting will be key for a roster that skews older and more experienced.
Teammates Separated. Coaches Swapped.
Collier didn’t stop at splitting up the Vegas core. She also broke up New York’s tandem by taking Breanna Stewart and leaving Sabrina Ionescu for Clark.
And for extra chaos, the two captains traded coaches after the final pick, Collier got Cheryl Reeve (her Lynx head coach) and Clark took Sandy Brondello and the Liberty staff instead.
The A’ja Wilson Injury Watch
A late twist could reshape Team Clark’s plans: Wilson was ruled out of Tuesday night’s game against the Liberty with an injury and her All-Star Game status is unclear. If she can’t play, it’ll rob Clark’s roster of its best interior player, and one of the biggest names in the sport.
Fans won’t get to see the old Aces championship trio back together, but they’ll get to see them battle it out on opposite sides of the league’s biggest stage.
