Odyssey Sims made the Opening Day roster and was a fixture in the starting line-up before taking time off before their game in Minnesota on June 14th for personal reasons. Sims rejoined the team in their game against the Sky at home on Sunday before being waived by the Sparks. Sims averaged 9.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 12 games. Her best game this season was a 32-point effort against Phoenix on June 1st.
Shey Peddy was signed on a hardship deal when Julie Allemand left the team to do Eurobasket. Peddy played in Phoenix from 2020 through 2023 before getting on with the Sparks. She was not in the league last season. Peddy played in six games (five starts) with the team and averaged 5.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 2025.
Julie Allemand returns to the Sparks having won the Eurobasket with Belgium for the second straight time. Allemand led the Belgians in scoring with 19 points which saw them come back from 12 down with under three minutes left to defeat Spain and successfully defend the Eurobasket championship. The team hopes they get a more confident Allemand for the rest of the season. Allemand missed the first two games of the WNBA season as she was recovering from meniscus surgery. She's played eight games this year with the Sparks (with one start) and has averaged 2.8 points and 2.8 assists.
Rae Burrell was poised for a bigger role this season but she got hurt on Opening Day when she landed awkwardly on her leg. She was carried out of the court. Burrell played 41 seconds in that game before getting hurt. She was said to be out 6-8 weeks and as of this writing, it's been nearly seven weeks since she got injured. Coach Lynne Roberts said during Tuesday's practice that they're ramping her up and that Burrell would be with them during the Sparks' two-game road trip. She could return as soon as Saturday against the Fever or she could be back after the trip.
Including Cameron Brink, the team is at 11 players so the team has an open spot to sign somebody. It'll be interesting to see what develops as there are some very good players available due to other teams waiving their own personnel.
