LAS VEGAS — The undisputed super middleweight title fight between Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford will take place Sept. 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, promoters announced Wednesday.

The bout will mark the first boxing event at the 65,000-seat stadium, home of the NFL’s Raiders and site of Super Bowl LVIII.

Álvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs), boxing’s biggest active star, will defend his undisputed 168-pound titles against Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs), the undefeated former welterweight champion. Crawford will be moving up two weight classes in a bid to become a four-division world champion.

The fight will stream globally on Netflix.

Promoters adjusted the original date to avoid a scheduling conflict with a UNLV football game at the stadium, clearing the way for one of the biggest fights of the year to land in Las Vegas on Mexican Independence Day weekend.

A multi-city press tour is expected to begin this month, with stops in Riyadh, New York and Las Vegas.
