The Golden Knights look to advance to the second round in tonight's game against the Wild, where they would play against the Kings or the Oilers. Brett Howden was the hero for Vegas as they won once again in overtime, with a score of 3-2. Howden's second game-winning goal of the first-round series is tied for the most in a single postseason series by a Golden Knight.
Knights Last Game
The Vegas Golden Knights took a 3-2 series lead against the Minnesota Wild with a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory on Tuesday at T-Mobile Arena. William Karlsson scored the opener with a shorthanded goal to take a 1-0 lead. Kirill Kaprizov on the Wild would respond almost immediately, 13 seconds in fact, after the game restarted and tied it 1-1. Mark Stone would then score, getting his first goal of the 2025 postseason, making it 2-1 as it headed into the 1st intermission 2-1, until the third period began it would stay 2-1 until Matt Boldy scored at the 3:31 mark of the third period.
It could have even gotten worse soon after that, as the Wild thought they got a go-ahead goal late in the third period, putting the puck in the net from the stick of Ryan Hartman. Vegas challenged if, in the build-up leading to that goal, a Wild player was offside and the call would get overturned, meaning the game was still 2-2 as it headed into overtime. Brett Howden would be the overtime hero as just four minutes into the period, he would score, sending the Golden Knights back into the series lead and on the brink of advancing into the next round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
